The geographical term is used both for the actual easternmost point on the headland of Brazil , which is today attributed to Ponta do Seixas , as well as for the noble district Bairro Cabo Branco in the Zona Leste of João Pessoa , the capital of the Brazilian state Paraíba, and for the district belonging to the beach of the same name Cabo Branco . The area is densely populated and built up. The landscape is characterized by rock formations, so-called taboleiros , which rise abruptly and reach heights of 40 m to 150 m .
The cape is marked by the Farol do Cabo Branco lighthouse .
