Cesium chromate is a chemical compound from the chromate group . It is the cesium salt of chromic acid . The compound is a poisonous, yellow powder.

Extraction and presentation

Cesium chromate can be obtained by reacting cesium carbonate with chromium (VI) oxide .

It is also possible to display it by reacting cesium dichromate with barium hydroxide .

properties

Cesium chromate crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system in the space group Pnma (space group no. 62) with the lattice parameters a = 8.43  Å , b = 6.30 Å and c = 11.20 Å, as well as four formula units per unit cell . Template: room group / 62

safety instructions

Like other chromates, cesium chromate can cause cancer .
