Caine Prize for African Writing

The Caine Prize for African Writing is an annual award for the best English-language short story by an African author. The prize money is £ 10,000.

The UK Literature Prize was founded in 2000. It was founded in memory of the long-time President of the Booker Company, Sir Michael Harris Caine . Because of its proximity to the Booker Prize , the Caine Prize is sometimes called the African Booker .
