The building of the Caisse d'Épargne (German savings bank ) in Wassy , a French commune in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region , was completed in 1904. The bank building is at 31 Rue du Général Leclerc.

history

In 1837 the savings bank for the Wassy arrondissement was founded. Its seat was in the sous-prefecture . The tender for the new building of the savings bank building was won in 1902 by the Parisian architect Émile Robert .

description

The main entrance is accessed via a wide flight of stairs . The arch of the portal is decorated with a bust of Hercules . Inside, the original wall paneling , doors and windows from the time it was built have been preserved.

The property is bordered by a wrought iron grating in the style of Art Nouveau .
