Cajetan Schweitzer
Cajetan Schweitzer (born June 4, 1844 in Munich ; † October 18, 1913 there ) was a German history painter, draftsman, illustrator and watercolorist.
Cajetan Schweitzer was born in Munich in 1844 as the son of a court musician. He studied since April 27, 1861 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Moritz von Schwind , Friedrich Voltz and Wilhelm von Kaulbach . He then worked as a freelance artist in Munich.
Schweitzer went on study trips to Bavaria, Thuringia and Saxony. In 1869 he worked in Leipzig.
Schweitzer's sons Alfred and Reinhold were also painters.
