The Caleta Higueras (in Argentina Caleta Fernandez Grellet ) is a bay on the north coast of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is east of Round Point .
Chilean scientists named it after Lieutenant Héctor Higueras Ormazábal, who was involved as a helicopter pilot in the rescue of British, Argentine and Chilean scientists from the volcanic eruption on Deception Island in December 1967. The Argentinean name is named after Humberto Fernández Grellet, head of the Argentine Cámara station on Half Moon Island in 1953.
