The Caleta Maciel ( English ) is a small bay in the northwest of the Adelaide Island west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 16 km south-southwest of Mount Vélain .
Argentine scientists named it after the Argentine politician Cosme Maciel (1784-1850).
