The Calf Head ( English for calf head ) is a headland on the north coast of South Georgia . It is 5 km northwest of Cape Harcourt and marks the northern limit of the Sacramento Bight .

A German group of researchers named the highest elevation during the First International Polar Year (1882–1883) on this headland the name Kälber-Berg . After measurements by the South Georgia Survey between 1951 and 1952, the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee decided in 1954 to extend the name in the English spelling to the entire headland.
