California State Route 163 , CA 163 for short , is a highway in the US state of California that runs in a north-south direction.
The highway begins on Ash Street in San Diego and ends on Interstate 15 . The State Route is also called the Cabrillo Freeway and goes back to the discoverer Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo . The State Route formed the southern end of US Highway 395 until 1979 . The first four kilometers it runs through Balboa Park , passing under the Cabrillo Bridge .
