Reverse with Pietà, the apostle Johannes and Maria Magdalena

The Calvaire (also known as Croix de Bonabry ) in Hillion , a French commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department in Brittany , was built in the early 17th century. The Calvaire from granite is east of the village near the Route départementale 34. It was in 1951 as a monument historique in the list of monuments in France added.

The Calvaire stands on a two-tier base with a square, also two-tiered base. The octagonal shaft is fluted and adorned with a band of small diamonds between each flute .

Christ crucified is shown with his knees bent between the two thieves . The good thief on the left has raised his head slightly and is looking at Christ. The other thief turned his body away from Christ.

A Pietà is attached to the back of the cross : Mary holds her dead son on her knees, whose rigid body describes a semicircle. On her right is the apostle John , on her left, St. Mary Magdalene with an ointment vessel. Two angels with coats of arms support the console. The coat of arms on the left, which shows the same diamonds as on the shaft, is the coat of arms of the Rohan family .
