Cambridge Mosque

The Cambridge Mosque (“Cambridge Mosque”) or Abu Bakr Siddiq Mosque is a mosque on Mawson Road in Cambridge , United Kingdom , named after Abu Bakr , the first follower and father-in-law of the Prophet Mohammed . One of their imams is the Chairman of the Cambridge Muslim Council and Fund Raising Manager of the Cambridge Muslim Welfare Society Sejad Mekić from Bosnia , who is a Bosnian and British national. The mosque is due to be completed by the end of 2018 [obsolete] .

Cambridge New Mosque Project

The Cambridge New Mosque Project or Cambridge Mosque Project is a planned new construction of a large mosque in the neighboring Mill Road, which is sometimes controversial in the British public. The trustees of the Muslim Academic Trust (Registered Charity No. 1065784): Abdal Hakim Murad (Timothy Winter), Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Tijani Gahbiche have called for support.

British Cypriot singer Cat Stevens , who has converted to Islam, expects support from Turkey for the Cambridge Mosque project. The cost of the mosque project should amount to 20.3 million euros, and a total of a thousand people should have space in the prayer room. The architects of the new mosque are David Marks and Julia Barfield.
