Boľkovce (Hungarian Bolyk ) is a municipality in southern Slovakia with 622 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Lučenec , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The village is located in the Lučenská kotlina basin (part of the Juhoslovenská kotlina ) on the right bank of the Ipeľ . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 186 m nm and is eight kilometers from Lučenec .
Next to the actual place Boľkovce is about three and a half kilometers to the west the settlement Boľkovská osada , including the location of the sports airfield Boľkovce (ICAO code: LZLU).
Neighboring communities are Pinciná in the north, Nitra nad Ipľom in the east and south-east, Holiša in the south and Lučenec in the west.
history
Boľkovce was first mentioned in writing as Bolk in 1320 . In 1828 there were 55 houses and 542 inhabitants.
The place in Neograd County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia and Slovakia. 1938–1944 he was again in Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration .

According to the 2011 census, Boľkovce had 650 inhabitants, of whom 441 were Slovaks, 125 Magyars and three Germans. 81 residents gave no answer. 449 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 24 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, four residents to the Jehovah's Witnesses and one resident each to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one to the Orthodox Church. 58 inhabitants had no denomination and for 113 inhabitants the denomination was not determined.
