Trebeľovce (1927–1948 in Slovak "Terbelovce" - until 1927 "Terbeľovce"; in Hungarian Terbeléd ) is a municipality in southern Slovakia with 903 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Lučenec , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj , and is also part of the traditional Novohrad landscape .

Seat of the municipal administration

The community is located at the transition from the Cerová vrchovina mountain range to the Lučenská kotlina basin , itself part of the larger Juhoslovenská kotlina unit . The Ipeľ flows north of the village and takes in the Babský creek on the left bank . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 187  m nm and is eight kilometers from Lučenec .

The municipality consists of the main town Trebeľovce and the settlements Dolná Bába, Láza and Muľka (incorporated in 1973), the latter being a part of the municipality.

Neighboring municipalities are Lučenec in the north, Holiša in the northeast, Fiľakovské Kováče in the east, Ratka in the southeast, Pleš and Mučín in the south, Rapovce in the west and Mikušovce in the northwest.

Roman Catholic Church in the village

Trebeľovce was first mentioned in writing in 1246 as Trebedid . The village was in the dominion of Fileck Castle, Divín Castle in the 15th and 16th centuries , after which it was owned by various nobles. In 1828 there were 39 houses and 350 inhabitants, whose main sources of income were agriculture and livestock.

Until 1918/1919 the place in Neograd County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. Due to the First Vienna Arbitration Award , he was once again part of Hungary from 1938 to 1944.

According to the 2011 census, Trebe Einwohnerovce had 943 inhabitants, including 694 Slovaks, 152 Magyars, 35 Roma, 2 Poles and 1 Moravian and 1 Czech. 3 residents indicated a different ethnic group and 55 residents gave no information about the ethnic group.

741 residents confessed to the Roman Catholic Church, 31 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, 2 residents each to the Evangelical Methodist Church, the Pentecostal Movement and the Reformed Church and 1 resident each to the Jehovah's Witnesses and to the Orthodox Church; 2 residents professed a different denomination. 82 inhabitants were without a denomination and the denomination of 72 inhabitants was not determined.
