Vidiná (German Weidenau , Hungarian Videfalva ) is a municipality in the south of Slovakia with 1775 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Lučenec , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The community is located in the Lučenská kotlina basin (part of the larger Juhoslovenská kotlina ) on the Krivánsky creek . The center of the village is at an altitude of 199 m nm and is four kilometers from Lučenec .
Neighboring municipalities are Veľká Ves in the north and northeast, Lučenec in the southeast and south, and Tomášovce in the west.
history
Vidiná was first mentioned in writing in 1335 as Vydafalua . In the 15th century there was a small Hussite fortress here. The population was engaged in agriculture, viticulture and pottery. In 1740 the whole village burned down. In 1828 there are 68 houses and 678 inhabitants.
1971-1990 the place was a district of Lučenec.
