Ábelová (Slovak 1927–1948 "Abelová" - until 1927 also "Jabelová"; Hungarian Ábelfalva  - until 1907 Abelova and older Abellehota , Latin Abel ) is a municipality in Okres Lučenec in Slovakia , with 196 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) .

geography

Ábelová is located in the Ostrôžky Mountains , which meet the Krupinská planina highlands near the village . It is located 18 km from Detva and 21 km from Lučenec .

In addition to the main town, the formerly independent towns Madačka (incorporated in 1973) and Nedelište (incorporated in 1990) also belong to the municipality.
