Šiatorská Bukovinka (Hungarian Sátorosbánya ) is a municipality in southern Slovakia on the Hungarian border, about 10 kilometers south of the city of Fiľakovo .
It is located in the central part of the Cerová vrchovina mountain range in the valley of the Belina river .
The municipality was officially established on January 29, 1959 when the settlements Šiatoroš and Bukovinka were spun off from the Radzovce municipality and should get the name Hranička . In 1960 the community received its current official name, which is made up of the names of both settlements.
The settlements emerged at the end of the 18th century and were located in the corridors of the Somoskőújfalu community in today's Hungary . When the border was drawn after 1918, the area became part of the newly formed Czechoslovakia. From 1923 people from Detva , Hriňová , Šoltýska and Kokava nad Rimavicou were recruited to settle on newly developed land. A spa was also opened.
With the First Vienna Arbitration , the area came back to Hungary; In 1945 this was reversed.
To the south of the village there is a road and rail border crossing to Hungary , in the municipality to the east of the village is the Šomoška castle . It is named after the Hungarian town of Somoskő (part of Salgótarján ), but it is located in Slovak territory. The castle hill is also known for the so-called stone waterfall, which is protected as a nature reserve.
