Ľuboreč (until 1927 “Luboreč” in Slovak; Nagylibercse in Hungarian ) is a municipality in southern Slovakia with 350 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Lučenec , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The village is located at the transition from the Juhoslovenská kotlina basin to the Ostrôžky Mountains by the Ľuboreč brook . The almost 31.7 km² large municipal area covers most of the stream valley and includes the small reservoir Ľuboreč downstream of the village. The center of the village lies at an altitude of 252 m nm and is 16 kilometers from Lučenec and 22 kilometers from Veľký Krtíš .

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1291 as Lyberchen . In 1828 there are 69 houses and 585 inhabitants.

Attractions
- Protestant church in Gothic style, originally built in the 14th century and redesigned in the 17th century. Medieval frescoes from around 1385 are particularly worth seeing.
