The birch-leaved bellflower ( Campanula betulifolia ) is a species of bellflower ( Campanula ) in the bellflower family (Campanulaceae).
features
The birch-leaved bellflower is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 10 to 15 (35) centimeters. The plant forms a rhizome . The leaves are long-stalked, blue-green, glossy and thick. The lower leaves are narrowly ovate to almost heart-shaped, irregularly toothed and up to 6 centimeters long. The flower buds are wine red. The flowers are erect or nodding. 2 to 12 flowers are arranged in a panicle. The crown is pale coral pink, bell-shaped, has a diameter of 10 to 30 millimeters, a width of 16 to 35 millimeters and is incised up to 1/5. The calyx appendages are pointed and 2 to 5 millimeters long, and they are rarely missing.
The flowering period extends from June to July, sometimes until August.
Occurrence
The birch-leaved bellflower occurs in north-eastern Turkey and in Armenia in the crevices of volcanic and limestone rocks at altitudes of 250 to 2285 meters.

The birch-leaved bellflower is rarely used as an ornamental plant for rock gardens. It has been in culture since around 1945.
