Campanula creutzburgii is a species of bellflower ( Campanula ) in the bellflower family(Campanulaceae). It belongs to the subgenus Roucela .

features

Campanula creutzburgii is an annual stem therophyte that reaches heights of 2 to 15 centimeters. The main axis of the stem is short, the side branches are elongated and prostrate. The leaves are entire to notched and sometimes have a small tooth on each side.

The bracts are entire or have a tooth up to 0.5 millimeters long on each side. The calyx tips grow as the fruit ripens and then protrude in a star shape. The crown is blue-violet, narrowly bell-shaped and 7 to 10 millimeters long. It is significantly longer than the calyx lobes. The anthers are 1.7 to 3 millimeters long.

The flowering period extends from April to May.

Occurrence

Campanula creutzburgii is endemic to Crete in the Heraklion Regional Unit . The species grows there on the island of Dia , east of Heraklion and in the western Asteroussia Mountains on limestone cliffs and in Phrygana at altitudes of 0 to 200 meters.

etymology

The species is dedicated to the German geographer Nikolaus Creutzburg , who published important geographical and geological works on Crete and also contributed to the island's floristic research.
