The insubric bellflower ( Campanula raineri ) is a species of the genus bellflower ( Campanula ).
features
The insubric bellflower is a perennial plant that grows in loose lawns and reaches heights of up to 10 centimeters. The several stems are arching, short-haired, usually single-flowered and leafed to below the flower . The leaves are 1 to 2 centimeters wide, oval , clearly and bluntly toothed and have a short stalk. The flowers are terminal, wide-bell-shaped, upright 3 to 4 centimeters wide and light blue. The calyx teeth are broadly lanceolate , short haired, toothed, pointed and about half as long as the crown . The bay between the calyx teeth have no appendages and are pointed.
The flowering period extends from August to September.
Occurrence
The Campanula Raineri is in the Italian Southern Alps between Lake Lugano and Giudicarie endemic . It only grows over limestone and dolomite in crevices and rock rubble in the subalpine to alpine level at altitudes of 1000 to 2300 meters, but mostly above 1500 meters.
