Campina was a globally active Dutch milk processing company in the legal form of a BV. The group's headquarters were in Zaltbommel , the Netherlands . In 2008 the company merged with Friesland Foods to form FrieslandCampina . The German subsidiary of the group is Campina GmbH & Co. KG , based in Heilbronn , which was created in 1996 by the manager Friedrich Wilhelm Schnitzler with the takeover (merger) of Südmilch AG .

Campina BV achieved a turnover of 4.032 billion euros in 2007 , of which 1.299 billion in the Netherlands, 1.069 billion in Germany, 360 million in Belgium and 683.7 million in the other countries of the European Union . There were 6,814 employees. 4.8 million tons of milk were processed.

Partners and therefore owners of Campina are Dutch, Belgian and German farmers; in 2007 there were 7,768.

The company's three main retail brands are Campina, Landliebe (in Germany and Austria) and Mona (in the Netherlands). In 2007 they achieved 48% of sales. Other brands are Optimel / Optiwell (in the Netherlands and Germany), Campina Fruttis and Neszny (Russia), Campina Milner (cheese, in the Netherlands and southern Europe).
