The Royal FrieslandCampina ( Koninklijke FrieslandCampina NV ), native to the Netherlands , is a multinational company that for private and professional users and for the food industry a wide range of milk products develops and fruit drinks, and market them. The company emerged at the end of 2008 from the merger of Friesland Foods and Campina BV . The most important brands are Friesche Vlag, Chocomel , Valess, Fristi, Dutch lady, Appelsientje, Milner, Campina, Landliebe , Optiwell and Mona.

The company employs around 22,000 people worldwide and achieved sales of 8.2 billion euros in 2009 . It has 100 production sites and branches in a total of 24 countries.

CEO (managing director) is Roelof Joosten . He succeeded Cees' t Hart , who was previously CEO of the Friesland Foods cooperative , with which the Koninklijke FrieslandCampina was merged in December 2008, and switched to the Carlsberg brewing group with effect from June 1, 2015 .

In 2008, SATRO GmbH in Lippstadt became part of the Ingredients division of Koninklijke FrieslandCampina.

On January 1, 2009, FrieslandCampina parted ways with its Prenzlau location and the operation there was sold to Uckermärker Milch GmbH . Part of the previous production of FrieslandCampina was relocated to the company location in Cologne , where 10 million euros were invested.

Since January 5th, 2009 the company has been allowed to call itself Königlich ( Dutch Koninklijke ), Queen Beatrix informed the company of this on that date.

As part of the restructuring measures following the merger, the company was divided into the following four business areas in 2009: Consumer Products Western Europe, Consumer Products International, Cheese & Butter and Ingredients.

The Ingredients division consists of the operational companies FrieslandCampina Domo, FrieslandCampina DMV, FrieslandCampina Kievit (Satro has been integrated into this), FrieslandCampina Creamy Creation, FrieslandCampina Nutrifeed and DFE Pharma (50/50 joint venture with Fonterra ).
