Royal Friesland Foods ( Koninklijke Friesland Foods NV , until June 7, 2004 Friesland Coberco Dairy Foods Holding NV), based in the Netherlands , was a multinational company providing a wide range of dairy products for private and professional users and for the food industry and developed, manufactured and marketed fruit drinks. In 2008 the company merged with Campina to form Royal FrieslandCampina .

The company is particularly well represented in the dairy market in Western and Central Europe as well as in West Africa and Southeast Asia. In 2007, 6.9 million tons of milk were processed, with sales totaling 5.1 billion euros. Royal Friesland Foods employs around 14,600 people, the majority of whom (12,300 in 2004) work outside the Netherlands. The company's leading brands are Appelsientje, Bonnet, Chocomel / Cécémel, Completa, CoolBest, Debic, DubbelFrisss, Dutch Lady, Extran, Frico, Friso, Foremost, Friesche Vlag, Frisian Flag, Fristi, Milli, NoyNoy, Peak, Pöttyös Túró Rudi , Rainbow and Taksi.

Royal Friesland Foods is a cooperative with 10,700 members - mostly Dutch farmers who are both suppliers and owners of the company. Since 1879 the company has grown steadily through mergers and acquisitions . The current form of the company came into being in 1997 when Friesland Dairy Foods, Coberco and the cheese dairies De Zuid-Oost-Hoek and Twee Provinciën merged to form Friesland Coberco Dairy Foods (FCDF). In December 2001 fCDf acquired the beverage division of Numico , with the brands Chocomel / Cécémel, Fristi and Extran.

On June 7, 2004, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix granted Friesland Coberco Dairy Food Holding NV the right to use the designation "Koninklijk" (ie royal). On that date, the name of the holding company changed to Koninklijke Friesland Foods NV. In 2005, the entire group adopted a new internal style and logo.

Friesland Foods has developed a logo for healthy food together with Campina and Unilever . With the slogan "Ik kies bewust" products are labeled with less fat , sugar and salt .

In Wolvega in Friesland, new small cheese packaging was put into operation with a capacity of 100,000 t per year.
