Canada Cup (boxing)
The Canada Cup is a former international boxing tournament and was held annually from 1988 to 1992 under the rules of the AIBA in the Canadian capital Ottawa . It consisted of a preliminary round, a quarter-final, a semi-final and a final.
Up to 1991 boxing was in 12 weight classes. In 1991 the fights were held in 11 weight classes.
Known winners
The most famous tournament winners are Lennox Lewis , Chris Byrd and Robin Reid .
Other well-known winners include Montell Griffin , Alexander Gurov , Egerton Marcus , Ivan Robinson , Raymond Downey (2), Dmitriy Vybornov , Paul Ingle (2), Chris Johnson , Tom Glesby (3), Waldemar Font , Paul Lloyd and Fitz Vanderpool .
