Canadian Economics Association

The Canadian Economics Association or Association canadienne d'économique is a Canadian association of economists . The aim of the organization is scientific exchange.

The organization, based in St. Catharines , was founded in 1966. It is led by a committee composed of the President, the Vice-President, the President-elect of the following year and the predecessor of the incumbent President, the Treasurer and twelve other members of the Association.

activities

Since 1968, the Association has provided two publications, the Canadian Journal of Economics and the Canadian Public Policy . The Canadian Economics Association awards two prizes for outstanding articles in these journals: the Harry Johnson Prize for the best article in the Canadian Journal of Economics of the previous year, the Robert Mundell Prize for the best article in the Canadian Journal of Economics of the previous year, written by a young author and the John Vanderkamp Prize for best article in Canadian Public Policy last year.

The Association has hosted the annual CEA conference since 1995. It takes place in summer at changing Canadian universities.

The Association also awards the following prizes:

  • CWEN / RFÉ Young Researcher Prize
  • Mike McCracken Award for Economic Statistics
  • CEA Distinguished Service Award
  • Bank of Canada Graduate Student Paper Award
