(5003) Silvanominuto is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 15 March 1988 by the Italian astronomer Walter Ferreri at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.

The asteroid was named on February 9, 2009 after the Italian amateur astronomer and founder of the Osservatorio Astronomico di Suno Silvano Minuto (* 1940). Minuto campaigned for several laws against light pollution .
