Canadian Jewish Congress
The Canadian Jewish Congress was an umbrella organization of Jewish organizations in Canada, based in Ottawa, Ontario.
He competed with the Bnai Brith Lodge , also active in Canada , which is active under the name B'nai Brith Canada. The last CEO of the lodge was Bernie Farber.
The organization existed from 1919 to 2011 with interruptions. It then went up in the "Center for Israel and Jewish Affairs - Center consultatif des relations juives et israéliennes", CIJA, as the current umbrella organization, with the CEO Shimon Fogel (2019) and the headquarters in Montréal .
The CIJA also has the archive of the Canadian Jewish Congress, which has been working as an archive since 1934. These "Canadian Jewish Congress Charities Committee National Archives" have been called "Alex Dworkin Canadian Jewish Archives" since 2015, named after the donor of considerable sums for these archives.
