Lake Candia is a 1.5 km² lake , located in the Piedmontese municipality of Candia Canavese in the Canavese region of the metropolitan city of Turin , Italy . It is the last largely natural lake before the Po Valley or the mountains of the Western Alps .

The lake and its surroundings have been protected as a nature park since 1995 . Hunting is prohibited. Angling and fishing is only permitted in a few ways and requires a permit. The Parco naturale di interesst provinciale Lago di Candia was the first such park to be established in a province of Italy; it covers an area of ​​336.17 hectares.

In the Candia area, the average annual temperature is around 12 ° C, with temperatures being lowest in January and highest in July.
