Canpotex (short for: Canadian Potash Exporters ) is a joint sales company of the two large fertilizer manufacturers Nutrien (formerly: Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan and Agrium ) and The Mosaic Company . It was founded in 1970 to promote the sale of Canadian potash outside America. Canpotex plays an important role in the global market for potash fertilizers and dominates it together with Uralkali and Belaruskali . For a long time, these two companies in turn had a joint distribution company called the Belarusian Potash Company .

According to Canpotex, it operates around 5,300 freight wagons and several chartered bulk carriers for the transport of potash. The main sales markets for Canpotex are in Central and South America and Southeast Asia. Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and Malaysia account for 75% of annual exports.
