The Mosaic Company is an American company that is one of the largest fertilizer manufacturers in the world. It was created in 2004 through the merger of IMC Global and Cargill's fertilizer business .
The Mosaic Company mines potash salt and phosphates , which are processed into fertilizers .
In December 2016, Mosaic announced that it would take over the Vale Fertilizantes division from Vale by 2018 .
