The Canty Point is a headland on the south coast of Anvers Island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It marks the west side of the entrance from the Neumayer Canal to the Börgen Bay .
Participants in the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery carried out the first rough mapping. A survey was carried out in 1955 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the headland in 1957 after John Canty (1931-1995) of FIDS, radio operator and mechanic at the Arthur Harbor station in 1955 and a member of the sled team that visited this headland.
