The Cape Leveque Road is a Outbackpiste the north of the Australian state of Western Australia . It connects Broome Road north of Broome with Cape Leveque , the northern tip of the Dampier Peninsula .

The outback slope branches off from Broome Road to the north about 10 km north of Broome and leads to the north-northeast. After approx. 108 km you will reach Beagle Bay , where you can refuel. They continue their way to the north-northeast through the Aboriginal reservation Beagle Bay to the settlement of Lombadina , where there is again a gas station. From there, after another 14 km, Cape Leveque is reached.

Importance and road conditions

Cape Leveque Road is important for the supply of the communities on the Dampier Peninsula and is therefore maintained by the Broome Shire .

From Beagle Bay to the north, it is paved. The southern section is poorly maintained. Many sections are washboard and have to be closed in the rainy season because they are flooded and impassable. In general, the use of a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended for the southern section .
