construction

Outside

Inscription on the stem

A tower-like roof turret with arched sound openings and an onion hood rises above the gable roof of the approximately 8 meter long and 4 meter wide building. The timbered vestibule in front of the entrance was painted 1810-1820 with pictures of scenes from the childhood of Jesus. The small wooden altar on the left side of the entrance served as an outside altar for the procession on the day of the church consecration. The two bells come from the Grasmayer workshop in Feldkirch and were cast in 1830 and 1867.

Furnishing

The small hall with an undivided nave is 4.2 meters long and 3.8 meters wide. It is covered by a barrel vault, the ceiling pictures show the Last Judgment. Behind a round choir arch is the weakly drawn-in choir with a stitch cap vault. The ceiling pictures were painted by Johann Jakob Riegg in 1702 and show depictions from the history of salvation such as the coronation of Mary, the marriage of Mary and Joseph and the death of Joseph. The painting with a picture of the incredulous Thomas is by Riegg and was painted in 1742. The forged choir grille, decorated with tendrils and flowers, dates from around 1700. It could have come from the workshop of the art locksmith Brother Joseph Bäz from Disentis / Mustér .

altar

The wooden high altar is flanked by two columns. The altar sheet with a representation of the Holy Family comes from Johann Rudolf Sturn and was created around 1653. The picture is a variant of the altar sheet of the rosary altar of the Chur cathedral . The kneeling figure of the donor at the lower left of the picture shows Christoph von Mohr, 1637–1655 cathedral provost in Chur. The carved and decorated with rocailles antependium was created in 1750.
