Carbon composites

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Carbon Composites eV ( CCeV for short ) is an association of companies and research institutions from Germany, Austria and Switzerland that are active in the field of high-performance fiber composites and has over 200 members. The headquarters of the association is in Augsburg , departments are based in Bayreuth (Ceramic Composites), Dresden (CC Ost), Kaiserslautern (CC Südwest), Augsburg ( MAI Carbon ), Stuttgart (CC Baden-Württemberg), Leoben (CC Austria) and Windisch (CC Switzerland).

history

The network was founded on March 12, 2007. In the following years, the regional departments CC East, CC Southwest, CC Switzerland (all 2012) and CC Austria (2013) were launched. In addition, the Ceramic Composites (2008) and CC TUDALIT (2013) departments as well as the MAI Carbon project department (2012) were created. At the initiative of the CCeV, 72 companies, educational and research institutions and other organizations from the Munich-Augsburg-Ingolstadt (MAI) region took part in the top cluster competition of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). As the leading- edge cluster MAI Carbon , this CCeV project has been funded by the BMBF since January 2012. In 2013, CCeV successfully completed the Gold Label certification of the European Cluster Excellence Initiative (ECEI) and demonstrated professional management in administration, financing, strategy and services.

Members

CCeV represents the interests of companies and research institutions with a focus on the field of high-performance fiber composites. These are primarily carbon fiber reinforced plastics. Other important groups of materials are fiber-reinforced ceramics and carbon fiber-reinforced concrete. The members cover all production steps across all industries that are necessary for the construction of carbon products (raw material, tool manufacture, development, production, service).

Field of activity

The main concern of the association is to promote the use of fiber composite technologies. The activities are geared towards this and include working groups and working groups for professional exchange, the organization of congresses and specialist conferences as well as a large number of training and further education opportunities in the field of fiber composite technologies. In addition, the members have the opportunity to present themselves at national and international trade fairs on the association's joint stand and to receive advice on applying for and implementing funding projects.

Every year CCeV creates a two-part composites market report together with the AVK (Industrial Association for Reinforced Plastics) , whereby the carbon fiber part (CFK) of the report is provided by the CCeV and the glass fiber part (GFK) is provided by the AVK. The resulting double report deals with the current trends, market developments, challenges and opportunities in the entire field of fiber-reinforced plastics.

Network and cooperation

The association works with other related networks in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. CCeV is a founding member of the Composites Germany trade association alongside AVK (Reinforced Plastics Industry Association) , CFK Valley Stade and VDMA Forum Composite Technology.
