The card complete Service Bank AG , formerly VISA credit SERVICE AG is an Austrian card supplier for cashless payments.
history
In 1985, VISA SERVICE credit cards AG was founded as a subsidiary of Zentralsparkasse und Kommerzialbank AG Vienna and the Genossenschaftliche Zentralbank AG . Originally only VISA cards were issued. In 2007 the name was changed to card complete Service Bank AG, and MasterCards have also been issued since 2008 .

With more than 1.2 million cardholders, card complete is one of two major credit card issuers in Austria ( issuer ) alongside competitor PayLife . In addition to VISA cards, MasterCards are also issued and JCB and UnionPay are accepted. As an acquirer , card complete agrees acceptance contracts with merchants and settles card payments.
Ownership structure and organizational matters
The card complete Service Bank AG is owned by Austrian banks. The shares are distributed as follows:
- Bank Austria (50.1%)
- Private foundation for managing assets (AVZ Foundation) (24.9%)
- Raiffeisenbank International (formerly Raiffeisen Zentralbank) (25%)
The board consists of Heimo Hackel (chairman of the board), Petra Schmidt and Robert Fritz. The company is located at Lassallestrasse 3 in the second district of the city of Vienna .
Market position
In 2012 Card Complete processed 103 million transactions with a turnover of 9.8 billion euros and around 1.25 million cardholders. In 2012, the competitor PayLife processed a total of 394 million transactions with sales of 19.95 billion euros and issued around 1.4 million cards.
In 2007 the European Commission advised the credit card market in Austria to be disentangled. The competition authorities considered it unlawful that two large card companies are owned by banks in Austria: PayLife (at that time still Europay Austria ) and card complete (at that time still VISA SERVICE credit cards AG ). In September 2013 the sale of Paylife to the Swiss SIX Group was announced.
