Titular diocese of Cariana
Cariana is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .
The diocese Carianensis was located in the Roman province of Africa near Byzacena (Bizacena), in what is now the Sahel region of Tunisia . Two smaller provinces, Byzacena and Tripolitania , were separated from the large province of Africa by the Roman Emperor Diocletian as part of his administrative reforms at the end of the 3rd century AD . In 590 the Byzacena became part of the Exarchate of Carthage .
