The diocese of Grand Rapids (Latin Dioecesis Grandormensis , Eng. Diocese of Grand Rapids ) located in the USA is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church with its seat in Grand Rapids .
It was established on May 19, 1882 from areas of the Archdiocese of Detroit. It itself gave up areas in 1938 and 1970 to establish the dioceses of Saginaw , Gaylord and Kalamazoo , so that today it is the areas of Mason County , Lake County , Osceola County , Oceana County , Mecosta County , Muskegon County , Newaygo County , Montcalm Includes County , Ottawa County , Kent County, and Ionia County .
