Kevin Michael Britt

Kevin Michael Britt (born November 19, 1944 in Detroit - † May 15, 2004 ) was Bishop of Grand Rapids .

Life

Kevin Michael Britt was ordained a priest on June 28, 1970 .

John Paul II named him Auxiliary Bishop in Detroit and Titular Bishop of Oescus on November 23, 1993 . The Archbishop of Detroit , Adam Joseph Maida , ordained him bishop on January 6 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Dale Joseph Melczek , Auxiliary Bishop in Detroit, and Walter Joseph Schoenherr , Auxiliary Bishop in Detroit.

The Pope appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Grand Rapids on December 10, 2002, and he was appointed to office on February 12 of the next year. After the resignation of Robert John Rose , he succeeded him on October 13, 2003 as Bishop of Grand Rapids.
