Robert John Rose
Robert John Rose (born February 28, 1930 in Grand Rapids ) is former Bishop of Grand Rapids .
Life
The Cardinal Vicar and Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and for Societies of Apostolic Life , Cardinal Clemente Micara , ordained him a priest on December 21, 1955 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Gaylord on October 13, 1981 . The Archbishop of Detroit Edmund Casimir Cardinal Szoka donated him episcopal ordination on December 6 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Joseph Matthew Breitenbeck , Bishop of Grand Rapids, and Joseph Crescent McKinney , Auxiliary Bishop of Grand Rapids.
He was named Bishop of Grand Rapids on June 24, 1989, and installed in office on August 30 of the same year. He resigned from his office on October 13, 2003.
