Located in the USA , the Diocese of Des Moines ( Latin : Dioecesis Desmoinensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church with its seat in Des Moines , Iowa .

history

Pope Pius X released the Diocese Des Moines on August 12, 1911 from the Diocese of Davenport and established it as an independent diocese, in January 1912 he appointed Austin Dowling as the first bishop. The church of St. Ambrose was established as the cathedral .
