The diocese of Brooklyn (Latin: Dioecesis Bruklyniensis ) located in the USA is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church . It was founded on July 29, 1853 and is subordinate to the Archdiocese of New York as a suffragan .

The diocese includes the New York boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens .

The Bishop of Brooklyn is currently assisted by six auxiliary bishops .

The diocese includes the Holy Cross Cemetery , located at 3620 Tilden Avenue in East Flatbush .
