The Roman Catholic Diocese of Richmond ( Latin : Dioecesis Richmondiensis ) in the US state of Virginia was separated from the Archdiocese of Baltimore on July 11, 1820 , of which it is still a member of the ecclesiastical province. After the Diocese of Wheeling was separated from him on July 19, 1850 , it received some areas of the Archdiocese of Baltimore again on August 15, 1858.
