The Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix ( lat. : Dioecesis Phoenicensis ) is in the United States located Roman Catholic diocese , based in Phoenix , Arizona .
history
The Diocese of Phoenix was founded on June 28, 1969 by Pope Paul VI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Pro Christo from cedings of the dioceses of Gallup and Tucson and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Santa Fe as a suffragan .

The Diocese of Phoenix includes the areas of Maricopa County , Mohave County , Yavapai County , Coconino County and Pinal County in the state of Arizona .
