The Roman Catholic Diocese of Orlando ( lat. : Dioecesis Orlandensis ) is in the United States located Roman Catholic diocese , based in Orlando , Florida .

history

The diocese of Orlando was on March 2, 1968 by Pope Paul VI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Cum Ecclesia from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Miami and the Diocese of Saint Augustine and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Miami as a suffragan . On June 16, 1984, the diocese of Orlando gave parts of its territory to establish the dioceses of Palm Beach and Venice .
