Thomas Joseph Grady

Thomas Joseph Grady (born October 9, 1914 in Chicago , Illinois , USA ; † April 21, 2002 ) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Orlando .

Life

Thomas Joseph Grady received on 23 April 1938 the Archbishop of Chicago , George William Cardinal Mundelein , the ordination .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 21, 1967 titular bishop of Vamalla and auxiliary bishop in Chicago . He received his episcopal ordination on August 24th of the same year by the Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal John Patrick Cody ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Madison , Cletus O'Donnell , and Aloysius John Wycislo , Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago.

He was named Bishop of Orlando on November 11, 1974, and inducted into office on December 16 of the same year. On December 12, 1989, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation because of his age.
