The Roman Catholic Diocese of Brownsville ( lat. : Dioecesis Brownsvillensis ) is in the United States located Roman Catholic diocese based in Brownsville , Texas .

history

The Diocese of Brownsville was on July 10, 1965 by Pope Paul VI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Ex quo tempore from cession of territory by the Diocese of Corpus Christi and subordinated to the Archdiocese of San Antonio as a suffragan . On December 29, 2004, the Diocese of Brownsville was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston as a suffragan.
