Enrique San Pedro

Enrique San Pedro SJ (born March 9, 1926 in Havana , Cuba , † July 17, 1994 in Miami , USA ) was a Cuban-American religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Brownsville .

Life

Enrique San Pedro entered the Jesuit order , and received on 18 March 1957, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Siccesi and auxiliary bishop in Galveston-Houston on April 1, 1986 . He received episcopal ordination from the Bishop of Galveston-Houston, Joseph Anthony Fiorenza , on June 29 of the same year; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Miami , Edward Anthony McCarthy , and Auxiliary Bishop Agustín Román Rodríguez of Miami.

He was named Coadjutor Bishop of Brownsville on August 13, 1991, and inducted into office on September 26 of that year. With the resignation of John Joseph Fitzpatrick on November 30, 1991, he succeeded him as Bishop of Brownsville.
