John Joseph Fitzpatrick

John Joseph Fitzpatrick (born October 12, 1918 in Trenton , Ontario , Canada , † July 15, 2006 ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Brownsville .

Life

John Joseph Fitzpatrick received on 13 December 1942, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 24, 1968 Titular Bishop of Cenae and Auxiliary Bishop in Miami . He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Miami, Coleman Francis Carroll , on August 28 of the same year; Co-consecrators were the Coadjutor Bishop of Nashville , Joseph Aloysius Durick , and Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Louis Bernardin of Atlanta .

He was named Bishop of Brownsville on April 27, 1971, and inducted into the office on August 28 of that year.

On November 30, 1991, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation.
