The diocese of Yakima ( Latin : Dioecesis Yakimensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States with its seat in Yakima . It includes Benton, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Kittitas, Klickitat, and Yakima Counties in Washington state .

history

Pope Pius XII founded it on June 23, 1951 from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Spokane and the Archdiocese of Seattle , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese.
