The Roman Catholic Diocese of Saginaw ( lat. : Dioecesis Saginavensis ) is in the United States located Roman Catholic diocese based in Saginaw , Michigan .

history

The Diocese of Saginaw was founded on February 26, 1938 by Pope Pius XI. built from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Detroit and the Diocese of Grand Rapids and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Detroit as a suffragan . On December 19, 1970, the Diocese of Saginaw gave parts of its territory to the establishment of the Diocese of Gaylord .
